Vector inks want!!!

I want to practice vector inking since I've seen some bad ass stuff with it on youtube.  Also it was how I originally did my inking so I wanna see if I can make it work more now.

I'm not happy with this test shot since my inks always look sloppy but I can't get Illustrator to taper to a fine point like I can with Sai.  Which is really frustrating on top of learning again how to make illustrator do what I want it to.

Faces

Expressions are my weak point and for characters its a necessity to get these down ASAP.  I really really appreciate fine details in facial expressions that show exactly what a character is thinking more than dialog but I don't have that skill level to pull that off but I wanna improve.

My favorite hippo.  I've been in a mood to want to see a lot of her so that's all I've been doodling.  I like these sketches and I want to color them but I'm gonna keep drawing and see if I get anything that may be better for her.

...and now Kazefat's pants don't fit him.  I'm gonna add more junk food items to the bg and maybe color this.  However all of last week I was worried that I was in a slump when really I just didn't have the desire to draw.  I still don't due to games and its a relief to know that its a mind thing.  So hopefully I'll get some pics done soon.

Blackberry Commission

Fat Black berry sitting at a sushi restaurant with sushi being fed straight to her.  This took way to long to complete but I hope Blackberry likes it.

 Vickymouse Commission

This sketch is a commission for Vickymouse she wants to be in a wrestling outfit that is practical and I'll aim for that...tomorrow.  I want her to see the sketch and approve any further progress.

Kazecat Stairs

The "Kaze Stairs" sequence is just a collection of fat poses of him that I wanna get done since Fatty Kaze is so well received.  The Jumba drawing is another in I hope set of sketches with her squashing Seat.

GP FS KC

    I don't mind how I drew Gill so far but I got upset at how I drew Kaze(I removed the layer with him on it).  The plan was to run straight through it sketch to color but when I get frustrated its better to stop and think about how I should draw it otherwise I'll be dissatisfied with a bad drawing.  I'm hoping for a tomorrow completion but no promising anything.

     Oh, and I wanna stream on Thursday so if you all wanna watch I'll make and announcement and try to do it around 8 pm.

I haven't used Jumba in a while.  I've been hooked on using her brother instead.  But a while back I wanted to see her so i doodled this.  Its very simple but I like it just for what it shows.

Just a FAQ in case you're wondering.

Why don't you stream anymore?
Frustrated with my computers performance when I stream so I just stopped doing it.  Don't be worried though since the sketch challenge is going well and I will buy a new computer with the money from the sketches.

Why don't you update your blog as much as you used to?
Oh don't think I've abandon this place.  Its just that the sketch commissions are all I'm working on and since I usually do those start to finish in one sitting there is no progress shot.  Thus nothing to show here.  Also I don't work on my own images anymore since I'd rather just run through all of these commissions ASAP.

What are you gonna do after the challenge?
After the challenge I'm gonna finish off the remaining 5-4 clients from the Color commission line up.  Then use that money with the rest for a new PC.  Then I'll take a short break from commissions to practice 3D again.  But I'll go back to streaming request on Thursdays as well.


Do you plan on using Pastillia(or insert character here) any time soon?
Nope.  Only if they are part of a commission.  That's the main focus.

Don't you think $20 is too cheap/ too expensive for  your color sketches?
Nope, I'm trying to get a lot on the sketches which may backfire since it eats more time and pushes the completion date back.  And I like calling them sketches but trying really hard on em since it lets me excuse any mistake and work fast.

Long Time no Update - 100 Commissions

Well, I don't want this place to be forgotten but the reason I haven't been  uploading is because the the 100 sketch challenge thing.  Most of my sketches get posted now so I haven't had WIP's to show as well as the fact that I try to commission out what I wanna see and work on what others want.  So I'm not drawing my own interest, but to give something to look at here I'll post the series of pics here as well.

rediscovered love

...of coloring!

I really needed this folks since all my commissions are for colors so now that I'm in love with doing it again maybe I can get 4 done this week.  I wanna work fast so I can save up money since I've decided I'm gonna just use some of the tax refund money for a new laptop.  No hurry though, I just figured that would be the best investment.

These were done in a open Canvas Session with Banga, Gill and Vorry.  It was a fun oC although as a personal gripe the RP and lovey talk in it was a bit much to me.  I tried to paint in oC which for time reason I'll try not to do often.

A late night doodle of Kaze sitting on Crytus.  Once again I messed up on Kaze's head since giving him a small head makes him seem like he's a tall dude which he isn't.  If this pic is liked I may consider coloring it but you know how large that list of "To color pics" is getting.  I feel bad since every drawing I like doing and wanna color makes me realize I already have a large list of pics that need to be colored.  :(  What a lame double edge sword that is.

Oversaturating?

Just a simple pic of Kaze and Jiggly.  Not much to say about it.  I don't hate it but Kaze isn't really well shown so I scrapped it.

I kinda want this girl to be a rival to one of Vicious Disko' Girls.  I'll talk to him about it later to see what he thinks.


Am I posting too often on this blog? I kind feel that maybe I'm watering down the value of each post by posting so often. Do you think I should post more stuff but less often or just keep this site updated.
